Sri Niwas Ramanujan is world famous as the great mathematician of India. Sri Nivas Ramanujan Iyengar belonged to a Brahmin family. Ramanujan Iyengar was a person rich in prodigious talent, on whose prodigious talent not only India but the whole world is proud.

India’s great eminent mathematician Sri Niwas Ramanujan was born in a Brahmin family on 22 December 1887 in Erode village in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu state in South India.
Ramanujan’s father Srinivasa Iyengar used to work as a bookkeeper in a cloth shop for livelihood. Ramanujan had to face many difficulties in his childhood. Ramanujan could not even learn to speak till the age of three.
Ramanujan was not even sharp in his childhood. Ramanujan’s parents were very worried about him.
At the age of 5, Ramanujan’s parents got him admitted to the primary school of Kumbh Konam for education.

At the age of just 17, Ramanujan had investigated Bernoulli numbers and found the significance of the EULER contest up to 15 decimal places. Srinivasa Ramanujan was awarded a scholarship for getting good marks in Mathematics and English. He had a lot of knowledge in mathematics, it was natural that his attention was less in other subjects.
Ramanujan had so much attachment to mathematics that he used to study mathematics in the class of other subjects as well.
As a result, he had to fail in all the subjects except Mathematics in the 11th class examination. In 1907, Ramanujan gave the private examination of class 12, in which he failed and failed. Ramanujan’s education came to an end after this.
At the age of 1, Ramanujan had come with his parents from Erode to a place called Kumbha Konam. After completing his education, his parents got Ramanujan married at the age of 22 to a girl named Janaki.
Janaki was 10 years younger than Ramanujan in age. Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, rich in prodigious talent, had written 120 formulas of mathematics in the year 1918 only at the age of 31 and sent his research to Professor GH Hardy of Cambridge University in England.
Professor Hardy was very impressed after reading those research papers and invited Srinivasa Ramanujan to come to Cambridge University.
Srinivasa Ramanujan was given membership of Trinity College on reaching England in 1918. Ramanujan was the first Indian to be granted membership of Trinity College in England. Due to tuberculosis (T.B.) (TUBERCULOSIS) disease, this great mathematician of the world drowned in eternal sleep at the age of just 33 years.
The premature demise of the great mathematician Srinivasa was an irreparable loss to the whole world. This great mathematician had made 3884 equations in his life of 33 years, many of which have not been solved yet.
In mathematics, the number 1729 is known as Ramanujan number. In Tamil Nadu (India), Ramanujan’s birthday is celebrated as IT Day and National Mathematics Day in whole India as Mathematics Day.
